Take on places
We approach a place with an interest in the existing. By existing we refer to the former and current use, aesthetics, narratives, and atmospheres of a place. This is a valuable collection of information - a collection consisting of layers of embedded intentions and narratives that have the potential to unfold. This encourages us to design new, alternative situations by responding to the existing.
We ask: “What would happen if...?”
Our interpretation of a place’s history and exisiting condition leads to acts of mimicking, unfolding and merging the characteristics in favor of prolonging and preserving the past into the future. All acts in different modes of temporality, always with a public dimension, often through the exhibition format. We do not need to build new. We need to respect the circumstances. The nature of a place. The premise of a place. Understanding its origin.
By proposing a new way of taking part in an existing sphere, we believe a new relevans will occur - one that demands less and enables more. We believe in prolonging and preserving and less in production.
