Scraps, trash, treasures (NL, 2024)

Format: installation

A site specific public intervention in the facade of artspace, an other world.

iOM! added new layers of neglected materials to the existing facade, allowing a general public to experience an experimental preservation of materials and the building, condemned to demolition.

To gather neglected materials for the work, iOM! entered the local underground of resources that exist beneath the available, priced market. Whatever they found; scraps, trash, treasures, became the palette to imitate the facade and echo the architectural elements of the building.

The installation was exhibited as a part of the exhibition: ‘What we build on’ with contributions from Kari Robertsen and  Omid Kheirabadi

iOM!s contribution was supported by:
The Danish Arts Foundation, Centre for Visual Arts Rotterdam , and Mondriaan Fonds
